Aromajoin technologies, Kyoto, Japan
Aromajoin is a well publicised Japanese technology company that specialises in digitally controlled aroma tech. Whether it’s a device for your home or something wearable, Aromajoin allows you to control these devices and the scents they emit via an app on your phone.
When Aromajoin appointed me to design their new website, I firstly worked directly with them to better understand the business, their customers and their needs. I discovered that the products were very desirable and looked fantastic but their current web offering was uninviting and frustrating to navigate, and most importantly didn’t allow me to make a purchase online.
With the research done and these key findings, I designed and developed the new site with complete consideration for the user’s needs. I had a very strong focus on web usability standards alongside elegant design. I wanted to ensure the new site provided each user with a positive user experience no matter what their journey.

Sensia, Oil and Gas production solutions, Houston.
Any digital website or platform I design always has responsive design as it’s main consideration. In fact many are now mobile first and desktop second with the way technology and its users are digesting online content on the move. A good example of a recent responsive site that I did the UX and UI design for is for an oil and gas management company called Sensia based in Houston, Texas. Here, I made sure my designs worked on various device sizes and I worked with developers in Europe to ensure there was no loss of functionally between break points. A special bit of UI design and front end code was employed to the ‘+’ graphic used as a styling and branding element throughout.

Email campaign
Costa baristas spend weeks on intensive training courses to ensure every latte they serve is a work of art. This campaign got Costa Coffee Club members excited and intrigued about the art of coffee making. A series of enticing email offers gave the customer a chance to attend a masterclass training course of their own to see what goes into every cup!
I also worked on designs for various other seasonal campaigns for Costa and applied the creative across landing pages, eDMs and in-store graphics. You can see some examples of these by clicking through the images.
Outdoor Advertising
Advertising campaign for Dyson’s smallest vacuum cleaner. My key inspiration was the discovery that the vacuum was the same size as a sheet of A4 paper. This powerful image became the key visual of my campaign as it dominated Bond Street station; and the integrated TV advert proved to be Dysons’ most successful to date.

Online Video/Animation
Dyson needed to create desire and excitement for their new bladeless fan, showcasing its iconic looks and technical advancements. My concepts dramatised this by comparing it to a typical bladed fan, and humorously showed the bladed fan’s reaction when hearing the voice-over artist tell of the developments of the new Dyson fan. The bladed fan realises it just can’t compete anymore and hangs its head in shame!

Charity Event Launch for Chron’s & Colitis UK
I created a number of branding and conceptual ideas for this charity event for runners who wanted to do something a bit different. This is a night run in London using UV lights and music to make the event more dynamic and edgy than your average run and gives runners the rare chance to engage with the City in a completely different way.
The ‘Light The Night’ idea for example, was based around a race to illuminate London. The run would start in the dark and as racers ran past key landmarks, they would be illuminated in their full glory!
‘uVme’, in other words, ‘U’ versus ‘ME’, highlights the competitive nature of the race to increase engagement among racers. Secondly, the identity points to the fact that this event will involve UV light and fluorescent colours.

Vet trips can feel like a full-scale operation. Once you’ve got your pet into the car, there’s traffic to deal with, and a parking spot to find… meanwhile your pet is getting more stressed. The convenience of having a Pets4Vets/Companion Care nearby means getting to the vet is a breeze for you, and most importantly, your pet.

The branding for the ‘Run London’ idea uses a spotlight as its key visual. This plays on the fact that we are shining a light directly at this hidden disease and bringing it to people’s attention. I added a running icon to bring a Batman-style heroicness to the proceedings. After all, we’re sending out a call for help here…

Digital Outdoor
Dyson fans have no fast spinning blades and therefore are a lot safer than conventional bladed fans. The brief was to make this safety message translate across digital outdoor screens. I came up with the idea of a passing a balloon through the aperture of a Dyson fan, as this would not be possible with a normal bladed fan and illustrated how safe the product was. It was a very engaging and intriguing digital piece. I also art directed the set and the shoot.
